School of Ministry

Centrepoint School of Ministry is a one-year experience for people who are passionate about leading a Spirit-filled life and fulfilling the destiny God has for them. Throughout your time in School of Ministry you will be intentionally discipled, imparted into by the Centrepoint Team and guest speakers from across our State and Nation, and trained in practical ministry and leadership.

COURSE FORMAT

COURSE FORMAT

SOM 1.0

A one-year, in-church formation experience.

Designed for anyone who is passionate about leading a Spirit-filled life and fulfilling the destiny God has for them.

Time:
Wednesdays, 7:00pm – 9:30pm during the school term

Inclusions:
Each night consists of worship, prayer, teaching, a supper break, practical activities such as small groups, Q&A and finishes with a time of ministry.
Some of the topics covered include:

Reading Scripture for revelation • The Person of the Holy Spirit • Christology • Identity in Christ • Renewing the mind • Freedom & forgiveness • Generational strongholds • Intimacy with the Holy Spirit • Prophetic ministry • Evangelism • Deliverance ministry • Leadership • Preaching & communication

You will also be required to serve fortnightly at your local campus in a ministry area of your choice as a part of your School of Ministry Experience. This aspect of the course provides you an opportunity to put what you are learning into practice.

$2,500 (includes guest speaker sessions, student retreat, missions trip, SOM shirt, and course resources)

Note: As this course is not accredited, FEE-HELP is not available. Our finance team can assist you in setting up a payment plan if needed.

SOM 2.0

Advanced Leadership Training

Designed for SOM graduates who are ready to deepen their theology, sharpen their leadership, and take on real pastoral responsibility.

Time:
Wednesdays fortnightly, 7:00pm – 9:30pm during the school term

Inclusions:
Each night includes advanced teaching, leadership roundtables, real-life ministry case studies, open discussion with seasoned pastors, and ministry time.
Some of the topics covered include:

Personal leadership • Character formation • Five-fold ministry • Organisational leadership & structure • Strategic ministry planning • Casting vision & recruiting teams • Kingdom mindset • Preaching • Biblical interpretation & application • Advanced leadership & decision-making • Implementing change • Pastoral ministry in complex cases • Pentecostal distinctives • Leading through personal struggles • Marriage & family • Running life-giving services • Next-gen ministry • Deliverance • Missions & the Church • Church planting

You will also be required to lead a Connect Groupon the opposite fortnight and will receive one-on-one mentoring throughout the year, giving you the opportunity to turn learning into real-life leadership and discipleship.

$1,750 (includes advanced leadership teaching, guest speaker round tables, student retreats, SOM shirt, one-on-one mentoring and course resources)

Centrepoint College

Accredited theological study with in-house ministry training.

A Diploma in Ministry designed for those who want to combine recognised theological study with supervised, real-world ministry experience at Centrepoint Church.

Time:

Teaching: Wednesdays, 6:00pm – 9:30pm during the school term
Internship: One day per week (typically Tuesdays, 9:00am–3:00pm), with flexibility to fit your availability.
Additional content and assignments: Up to one extra day per week for reading, online content, and assessment tasks.

Inclusions:
You will study a Diploma of Ministry through Alphacrucis University College while completing your tutorials and ministry placement at Centrepoint.

Your week includes in-person teaching, online content, reading and assignments, plus a supervised ministry placement.
Units include:

Faith & Purpose • Old Testament Foundations • Introduction to Theology • Introduction to Pastoral Ministry • New Testament Foundations • Character Formation and Ministry • Professional Practice (Internship) • Leadership Principles

You will also be required to lead a Connect Group and will receive one-on-one mentoring throughout the year, giving you the opportunity to turn learning into real-life leadership and discipleship.

February 2026

Tuition:
$13,200 (includes teaching, guest speaker round tables, student retreats, SOM shirt, one-on-one mentoring and course resources)

Note: The Diploma of Ministry is awarded by Alphacrucis University College.
Admissions, fees and any available government loan options (e.g. FEE-HELP) are administered by Alphacrucis and are subject to their entry requirements and eligibility criteria.

Centrepoint Internship

Hands-on ministry placement.

Designed for those who want to get close to the heart of church life, serve alongside our pastors and team, and grow through real responsibility and mentoring.

Time:
Tuesdays, 9:00am – 3:00pm during the school term

Inclusions:
Each week you will join Staff Chapel, assist with ministry projects and events, shadow pastors, help coordinate services and teams, support pastoral care and next-steps pathways, contribute to communications and planning, and participate in outreach initiatives.

You will receive regular feedback and one-on-one sessions with your supervisor to set goals, reflect on what God is doing in you and through you, and grow in confidence and clarity around your calling.

Free (includes Staff Chapel, supervisor mentoring, ministry masterclasses and internship resources)

Note: The Internship is not accredited and does not attract FEE-HELP.

Taryn Hamilton – School of Ministry Director

Ps Taryn & Mitch Hamilton are the Maddington Campus Pastors and have served as part of the Centrepoint Team for over 10 years. Taryn is a vibrant communicator who is passionate about God’s word. Her energy and spark for life is contagious and makes her a dynamic and beloved leader. Taryn is committed to raising up a generation of spirit-filled disciples. Taryn & Mitch are the proud parents to their 3 children Elijah, Jairah and Ava.

Melissa Bryan – School of Ministry Student Coordinator

Mel Bryan has been a dedicated staff member at Centrepoint Church for over eight years, taking on a variety of key roles including Kids' Ministry Director, Events Coordinator, Services Coordinator, and Pastoral Care Director. In each of these positions, Mel has demonstrated exceptional leadership, organizational skills, and a deep care for the people she serves. As the School of Ministry Student Coordinator, she draws on her wealth of experience to provide students with the support and guidance they need to thrive in their ministry journey.

    Ps Joel and Sharon Chelliah

    Ps Joel and Sharon Chelliah are the founders and Senior Ministers of Centrepoint Church. They are passionate about raising a Godly generation, building strong marriages, and seeing the love of God revealed in this world.

    Ps. Eudora Hammer

    Ps Dora holds both a Bachelor’s and Honours degree in Theology and is passionate about teaching God’s Word in a way that is clear and accessible. She carries a strong teaching gift that inspires others to grow in their faith and understanding of Scripture.

    Ps. Derek Lindsay

    Ps Derek has faithfully served on our teaching team for many years and previously led Centrepoint College as College Director. He is gifted in teaching and has a unique ability to break down God’s Word in a way that is clear, practical, and easy to understand.
