Centrepoint School of Ministry
is where people are discipled and trained to lead a Spirit-filled life and fulfil the destiny God has for them.

Throughout your time in School of Ministry you will be intentionally discipled, imparted into by the Centrepoint team and guest speakers from across the State and Nation, and trained in practical ministry and leadership.

SOM 1.0 is a place to grow deeper in your faith, discover who God has called you to be, and develop as a disciple through practical teaching and hands-on experience. 

Centrepoint College is a place to go deeper in theology and Scripture, develop as a leader, and step into the calling God has placed on you, through theological study and, on the Accredited Pathway, an Internship with the Centrepoint team.

A year of discipleship designed for you to grow deeper in your faith, discover who God has called you to be, and develop as a disciple through practical teaching and hands-on experience. 

Teaching
Wednesdays, 7–9:30pm, during the school term at our Bibra Lake campus.

Serving
Serve fortnightly at your local campus in ministry area/s of your choice. This aspect of the course provides you an opportunity to put what you are learning into practice.

Inclusions
Your tuition covers the SOM Retreat, all Wednesday sessions, guest speakers, volunteer tickets to the Centrepoint and ACCWA Conferences and a regional mission trip.
It also covers your School of Ministry shirt and course resources.

A year of study, designed for you to develop your theology, your leadership and your ministry practice.

Teaching
Wednesdays, 6–9:30pm, during the school term at our Bibra Lake campus.

Internship
The Internship is part of the Accredited Pathway, and optional for Development Pathway students.
Tuesdays or Fridays, 9am–3pm, during the school term.

Inclusions
Your tuition covers the SOM Retreat, all Wednesday sessions, guest speakers, volunteer tickets to the Centrepoint and ACCWA Conferences and a Theology Intensive.
It also covers one-on-one mentoring, your School of Ministry shirt and course resources.

Accredited pathway
Diploma of Ministry, awarded by Alphacrucis University College.

Admissions, fees and any available government loan options (e.g. FEE-HELP) are administered by Alphacrucis and are subject to their entry requirements and eligibility criteria.

Development pathway
Open to SOM 1.0 graduates. The same College teaching, without the assignments or the Diploma. 

Payment plans are available.
The Centrepoint College Development Pathway is not accredited, so FEE-HELP does not apply.

Designed for those who want to get close to the heart of church life, serve alongside our pastors and team, and grow through real responsibility and mentoring.

Time
Tuesdays or Fridays, 9am–3pm, during the school term.

Who can do it
The Internship is part of the year for every student on the Accredited Pathway, with no separate application.
It is also open to all Development Pathway and SOM 1.0 students on application. Places depend on how many supervisors are available in a given year, so apply early!

Inclusions
Throughout the year you will:
  • Join Staff Chapel
  • Assist with ministry projects and events
  • Help coordinate services and teams
  • Support pastoral care and next-steps pathways
  • Contribute to communications and planning
  • Participate in outreach initiatives

You will receive regular feedback and one-on-one sessions with your supervisor to set goals, reflect on what God is doing in you and through you, and grow in confidence and clarity around your calling.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can apply for the Accredited Pathway without doing SOM 1.0, although SOM 1.0 is still the recommended first year, because it builds the foundations that everything else sits on and students who have done it get more out of College.

The Development Pathway is open to SOM 1.0 graduates only.

Yes! Yes! Whether this is your first year at Centrepoint or you’ve been here for years, we’d love for you to apply.

Students are expected to attend Centrepoint throughout the year, because so much of the year happens in community.
You serve at your campus, you’re discipled by people who know your name, and you grow alongside others rather than on your own.

Payment plans are available for SOM 1.0 and the College Development Pathway, and FEE-HELP is available to many students completing the College Accredited Pathway.

Doing a School of Ministry course doesn’t guarantee a leadership role at Centrepoint Church.

The year will develop you as a disciple through practical teaching and hands-on experience.

Several Centrepoint staff came through the School of Ministry, and plenty of others are now leading in their workplaces, families and volunteer teams, which counts just as much.
